We’re Impressed by the 2015 Acura RDX Specs
If you’re shopping for a new family crossover, the engine may not be the first thing on your mind, but we think that the 2015 Acura RDX specs deserve the spotlight for a bit. Not only does this luxury crossover give drivers what they want in a family vehicle, but when you look at the Acura powertrain, it’s clear that the RDX is one of the best vehicles on the road.
A Remarkable Powertrain
Under the hood of every 2015 Acura RDX is a 3.5L V6 engine with variable cylinder management that manages to deliver 273 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque while maintaining one of the best fuel economies in its class: the 2015 RDX 6-Spd AT earns an EPA-estimated 28 highway mpg.*
That high fuel economy is due in large part to the Variable Cylinder Management II system that lets the RDX shut off two or even three of its cylinders to better conserve fuel when coasting. The all-aluminum construction helps reduce overall engine weight, and the low-friction piston rings and low viscosity oil make it easy to get the most out of every drop of fuel.
And while the 2015 Acura RDX specs are noteworthy in and of themselves, the vehicle becomes even more incredible when you add on the all-wheel drive with Intelligent Control System. It operates just as efficiently as the FWD system when cruising, but if you need extra traction, it springs into action and can send up to half of the engine’s 273 hp to the rear wheels.
More Than an Engine
While most people think “power” when they hear “specs,” we think it’s also good to point out that the dimensions of the RDX make it almost feel like it’s bigger on the inside, giving you 103.5 cubic feet of overall passenger space and offering an expandable cargo area ranging from 26.1 cubic feet to 76.9 cubic feet.
