Next-Generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering Body Structure

Safety is built directly into the body structure of the ILX with Next-Generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. It utilizes a network of interconnected structures help to:

  • Absorb frontal crash energy and distribute it away from the occupants inside

  • Help distribute the impact transferred from the other vehicle

Multi-View Rear Camera

All ILX models are equipped with a multi-view rear camera to help drivers check the surroundings of the ILX before backing out. And with yellow guidelines as the standard and dynamic guidelines as an upgraded feature on the Technology and A-SPEC packages, drivers can maneuver in and out of tight spots much more easily. The camera incorporates three different views to choose from:

  • Normal View – The traditional angle to help drivers check the area before backing out

  • Adaptive Cruise Control – Drivers select their desired speed and distance interval with the vehicle ahead and this system balances between them to keep the ILX within the natural flow of traffic.

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System – This system can engage the braking when an oncoming vehicle or other object is dangerously approaching the ILX in order to mitigate any impact.

  • Lane Keeping Assist System – If the ILX rolls over lane lines on the highway, this system can nudge the steering to bring the vehicle steadily back to the center.

  • Road Departure Mitigation System – Using sensors, this system detects if the ILX drives over lane lines and road markings and can engage the brakes and steering to prevent it from going off the road.

  • Blind Spot Information System – Helping drivers monitor the activity going on in their blind spot, this system displays an indicator icon if the coast is not yet clear.
