Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) is the ultimate sport handling choice for the RDX. This available sophisticated system boosts high-performance dry-road handling while providing the same all-weather advantages of conventional all-wheel drive. By continuously directing engine power to match weight distribution, available traction, driver input and other conditions, SH-AWD® provides seamless power transitions and liberating agility.
The 2019 RDX is beauty and beast. All-new for this year is a direct-injected 16-Valve, DOHC VTEC® turbocharged power plant. There is 272 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, an increase over last year which means quicker acceleration and sharper throttle response.
The 2019 RDX’s turbocharged engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This setup takes full advantage of the turbo engine’s low-end torque and, whether you are in automatic mode or using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, gear changes are quick and seamless.
Gone are the days when a dynamic driving experience was limited to Drive, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. With the Integrated Dynamics System (IDS), RDX owners not only enjoy a 10-speed automatic transmission, but four unique driving modes: Snow, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
The available Adaptive Damper System allows the RDX to remain soft and comfortable during highway cruising, yet firm when the road requires high-performance handling. In other words, fun when you want it and comfort when you need it. It can adjust suspension responsiveness in a split second, so if the conditions change the RDX changes right with it.
Life is full of twists and turns, so the ability to change a vehicle’s steering ratio can have a few advantages. The Dual Pinion, Variable Ratio Electric Power Steering on the all-new 2019 RDX allows you to get a lighter, deft feel at slow speeds, but also a sense of stability at higher speeds. Now you might want to take the long way home, or at least the curvy one.
Open the new Remote-Linked Adjustable Height Power-Operated Tailgate as you approach your RDX with the press of a button on the key fob. And now, new for 2019, its height adjustable, so the tailgate opens and closes with a precise motion with high head clearance for hassle-free loading and unloading.
Let the sun, or breeze, in. There is nothing like a Panoramic Moonroof that tilts and slides up front to shine with a little natural light on your drive. And don’t worry, it’s big enough so your passengers will enjoy it too. And it’s standard on all RDX models.
Nothing wrong with standing out a little. The 2019 RDX will feature an all-new A-Spec® trim with exclusive front and rear fascias, 20-in Shark Gray Split 5-Spoke wheels and A-Spec® exclusive badging. Every feature was designed to catch your eye and leave a lasting impression.
Apple CarPlay™ Integration is a smarter way to use your iPhone® in your RDX. You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music, all in a way that allows you to enjoy the drive. Just connect your iPhone and go.
Introducing Acura’s all-new, True Touchpad Interface™, which uses absolute positioning. In other words, when you tap on the left corner of the touchpad, the touchpad corresponds with the action precisely on the top left of the center display. It’s personal, intuitive and user-friendly.
The available Acura Navigation System with 3D View lets you find destinations and directions using the Natural Language Voice Recognition System. Avoid delays on busy streets using HD traffic information.
You can tell the moment you sit in the RDX seats that you’re in the lap of luxury. The front sport seats offer available heating and cooling capabilities, 16-way power adjustment and are covered in soft, full-grain Milano leather. This is an interior that is as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye.
You’re going to like the sound of this. This 16-speaker, 710-watt Acura/ELS Studio® 3D Premium Audio system was developed by Panasonic® and tuned by Grammy-winning music producer and longtime Acura partner, Elliot Scheiner.
Inspired by the NSX, the exclusive UltraSuede®-trimmed seats are an ideal combination of luxury comfort and dynamic driving support. Engineered to attack the curves ahead, the lateral grip of the material holds you securely in place for a tactile level of precision performance.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow maintains a set speed and following interval from a detected vehicle ahead on the highway, even working in traffic to stop the vehicle entirely. At speeds below the set speed, ACC maintains the set interval from a car detected ahead, modulating the throttle and applying moderate braking where appropriate.
The Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines produces a display whenever “Reverse” is engaged. Three separate views allow the driver to select one to best serve the situation. And when backing out of parking spots, a wide angle helps reveal what’s behind the RDX—perfect to look for approaching vehicles or pedestrians.
A helpful heads up. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) System warns you if the system determines there is likelihood of a frontal collision when a vehicle is detected in front of you. If you do not brake in time or take preventive action, a visual warning flashes on the Multi-Information Display, and an audible beep sounds continuously.
Powered by a combination of radar transmitter and forward-facing camera, the CMBS™ determines the distance and closing speed of detected objects that lie directly ahead. When the system senses that a frontal collision is unavoidable, even if no prior alerts have been given, strong braking is automatically applied to help reduce the impact velocity and collision force.
With the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System there is a camera mounted between the windshield and the rearview mirror that determines if your vehicle begins to move away out of a detected lane. If you cross a detected lane marker without using the turn signal, a message appears in the MID and a beep sounds continuously.
If the Blind Spot Information (BSI) system detects a vehicle in the adjacent lane’s “alert zone”, an indicator appears on that side’s windshield pillar and also on the Multi-Information Display (MID) screen. If the driver activates the turn signal in the direction a vehicle has been detected, the pillar indicator on the corresponding side flashes and a warning beep sounds.
