Compare the 2017 Audi Q7 3.0t Standard Features to the Acura MDX
When it comes to the average crossover, we think it’s undeniable that the 2017 Audi Q7 3.0t standard features have the advantage, but what if we put it up against a vehicle in the same class? Wisconsin drivers were asking us about the 2017 Acura MDX months before it arrived at Wisconsin Acura Dealers, so we thought it would only be fair to pit the Audi Q7 up against the MDX and see which one came out ahead.
Audi vs. Acura
Before we dive into the features, we want to start with what we think is one of the biggest advantages of the Acura: its price.
- 2017 Acura MDX FWD models are priced at only $43,950.*
- 2016 Audi Q7 3.0t prices start at $54,800.
We know that when most drivers see such a huge discrepancy in price, they expect the features of the more expensive vehicle to come out ahead. When we put the Acura MDX amenities side by side with the 2017 Audi Q7 3.0t standard features, we found a very long list of tech, comfort, and safety features that were missing from the Audi, including:
- Voice-activated controls
- Driver memory settings
- Noise and sound cancellation
- Advanced telematics system
- Jewel Eye LED headlights
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Collision Mitigation Braking
- Lane Keeping Assist
While some comparable features are available on the Q7, others simply can’t be found on the Audi. We also saved the biggest difference for last: the third-row bench seat. A third row of seating is available for upgrade on the Audi Q7, but it slides into the cargo area. The MDX has a third row of seating as standard, offering a spacious cargo hold and seating for up to seven passengers. We think larger Wisconsin families will appreciate the spacious MDX and its standard third row over a cramped add-on bench seat in the Audi.
As if these strengths weren’t enough, the MDX has a 72-month/70,000-mile powertrain warning for added peace of mind; the Audi only covers powertrain components for 48 months or 50,000 miles.
